When the players of Afghanistan and Sri Lanka queued up for the national anthem, a player escort fell unconscious at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Monday (October 30). This happened during Sri Lanka’s national anthem.
The player escort was standing in front of Sri Lankan skipper Kusal Mendis who quickly held the boy and stopped him from falling onto the ground. A member of the Afghanistan support staff rushed in to take the 13-year-old kid off the field.

Both Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have won just two matches out of the five they have played so far. They are currently occupying the fifth and seventh spots on the points table. To qualify for the semifinals, they have to win all the matches and the net run rate is also going to play the role in deciding which team will advance to the last four stage.
Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan match so far
After winning the toss, Afghanistan chose to bowl first. Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side bundled out Sri Lanka for 241 runs in 49.3 overs with the help of Fazalhaq Farooqi’s four-wicket haul.
Opener Pathum Nissanka scored the most runs (46 off 40), while Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama scored 39 and 36 runs respectively. Afghanistan have started their run chase and have lost one wicket for 30-plus runs.
