The Dallas Cowboys will fly off to Oxnard on July 26 to officially begin their offseason training camps. However, it seems they could face a fitness issue with quarterback Dak Prescott.
Much has already been surrounding the 30-year-old’s contract extension as he will play the last year of his Cowboys deal. However, there’s a new fear has arisen out of nowhere as fans photographed Prescott wearing a walking booth.
A couple of photos from Dak Prescott’s vacation with baby mama Sarah Jane Ramos in Los Cabos, Mexico surfaced on July 3. In the photo, Prescott’s right ankle has heavy protection around it.

The Dallas Cowboys‘ last organized training session was back on June 5, but neither the franchise nor the player announced any injury. So, it remains unclear how he picked up a knock.
Perhaps it happened when Prescott attended the three-day Tight End University event in Tennessee in late June. At this point, it’s only speculation, but according to Pro Sports bettor Steve Fezzik, Cowboys Nations should refrain from taking this lightly.
While appearing on the Ross Tucker podcast, Fezzik claimed that the bettors are going against betting in favor of the Cowboys. They received inner knowledge that Prescott wasn’t 100%.
Dak Prescott not in need of a walking boot
NFL Ian Rapoport covered Prescott’s injury stating that it was an ankle injury while the Dallas Morning News’ Calvin Watkins reported it was a minor foot strain. Regardless, ESPN’s Todd Archer found out from sources that Prescott no longer wears the walking boot.
Despite the positive news, Prescott’s energy levels will be tested during the 2024 season. He already lost a significant amount of pace as he got older and now prefers being a pocket passer contrary to his Mississippi days.
Yet the biggest question mark looms over Dak Prescott’s future with the Cowboys. While owner Jerry Jones remains content letting the 3 time Pro Bowler see out his contract, several analysts have criticized him for the delay.
ESPN Radio’s Chris Carlin, on the other hand, advised Prescott to stay away from the Cowboys until they agree on a new deal.
He shouldn’t step on the football field until he has one. He absolutely should hold out. Jerry Jones has, for years, hesitated at every turn to pay Dak Prescott.Chris Carlin said on First Take
Prescott’s contract ends in June 2025 and if the Cowboys don’t agree on a deal by May, then he will become a free agent. He has all the leverage that he needs to get a mammoth extension, but not before proving to Jones that he deserves it.
