Last season, Dak Prescott was so good that he gave Lamar Jackson a run for his money in the NFL MVP polls. The situation has changed massively since then.

The Dallas Cowboys sit with 2 wins and 2 losses after four weeks of football this season, which can get worse because of the amount of injuries piling up. Regardless of the shaky results, Prescott almost secured a victory over Jackson’s Ravens, but the Baltimore team held on.

Question marks have been raised about his performances, more so because he signed a $60 million-a-year deal just before the season began. The scrutiny surrounding Dak Prescott was already severe, as he’s the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, but now every slip is counted against him.

Despite that, the 31-year-old shot caller believes that he has played some of the best football of his league career during the last few weeks and is close to perfecting it.

I’m playing solid football. There are a few plays here and there that I’d like to have back, but overall, I’m on the right track. I’m guarding against trying to do too much, but I feel like I’m on the brink of something special.

Dak Prescott doesn’t believe he has to be Superman to win games for the Cowboys

The Cowboys were the best offense last season, but after four games this year, Mike McCarthy’s side sits at 11th best. Prescott has done relatively well but not in the same ferocity as last term around.

He has 96 from 149 for 1072 passing yards, 6 touchdowns, and 1 interception, along with 1 rushing touchdown, for a quarterback rating of 93.6.

I don’t break the huddle and say, ‘I’ve got to go be Superman here. But I’ve been able to break some tackles. I’ve been able to do some things that have helped people out, used my feet more, make the throws. So I don’t think it’s anything outside of my game that I got to try to do.

The Cowboys will be without several key players, such as Micah Parsons, Demarcus Lawrence, and Brandin Cook while playing the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 5. It will be a tough game as Mike Tomlin’s Steelers have one of the best defenses in the league, and they are playing at home.

Prescott has only ever played the Steelers once in his NFL career, during his rookie season. He completed 23 of 32 for 319 yards and two touchdowns as the Cowboys won 30-35.
