36-year-old female WWE star spotted wearing knee brace again just months after returning from injury

Dakota Kai missed out on a major chunk of 2023 after tearing an ACL during a match in May 2023. Although she still made some appearances on WWE programming, she did not wrestle for nine months. Despite the female superstar now being back, fans have once again become worried about her health.

Dakota Kai took to X to share some backstage photos of herself. In one picture, she can be seen posing alongside backstage interviewer, Cathy Kelly. The other photo comprises her sitting atop a box of production equipment. However, eagle-eyed viewers noticed a detail in the image that slightly worried them.

The photo featured her wearing a black knee brace similar to what she wore on TV when she was injured. It is unclear if the 36-year-old needs the brace once again, uses it occasionally for support, or if she is simply doing a throwback with the item that supported her for so long in her dark times. Regardless, fans hoped that all was well with the former Women’s Tag Team Champion.

The Auckland-born wrestler was injured in a match on the May 12th episode of SmackDown. She teamed up with Bayley to take on Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. She tore her ACL and disappeared from WWE programming until SummerSlam 2023. Even after that, she only competed in a match in early 2024 during the build-up to WrestleMania XL.

Dakota Kai sends Asuka her wishes amidst the latter’s recovery from a knee injury

Despite Damage CTRL being a weekly appearance on Raw since the draft, they continue to be short of one member. There were rumors of Asuka being injured since before WrestleMania. However, the Japanese wrestler somehow pulled through and continued to wrestle until Backlash, after which she was not seen on TV programming.

The Empress of Tomorrow recently shared a photo of her knee brace and confirmed that she was out of action due to a knee injury. Fellow Damage CTRL stablemate replied to the tweet saying that her friend was the coolest. Further, she wished well on her recovery.

Asuka was supposed to compete in this year’s Queen of the Ring tournament. However, she was replaced by Dakota Kai herself after the injury came to light. Fans hoped to see the former Women’s Champion return to their TV screens soon and wished her a speedy recovery.
