The NASCAR Cup garage is getting ready for the second race of the season at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Since the reconfiguration, the tracks have been hosting some of the most entertaining races in the Next-Gen era, but the chaos that comes with it makes it one of the most disliked races among the Cup drivers.

Man, I like what I’m hearing from Chase here. Praising the reconfig. I remember when most drivers were very weary of a reconfig at ATL. ATL has a real chance to be explosive (in a good way) for @NASCAR… The racing I’ve seen there the past few years is some of the best around. Kept me on the edge of my seat.

Further sharing his views on the point, Junior asserted that the races are going get better once the track ages and racer become more experienced there. He also believes additional development around the track is going benefit the sport as it would make it an attractive stop of the season for fans.

As the surface ages over the years and drivers have to really chase the handle on the cars, it’s going to get even more intense… And there were some plans for additional development around the property that if they materialize will make it one of the most attractive stops of the season for fans.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. gives an update JRM’s Cup future
The 2025 Daytona 500 marked the Cup debut of Dale Jr.’s team, JR Motorsports. The team secured a solid top-10 finish and talking about the future of the team in the elite division, he pointed out that they are ready to face the big challenge alongside his sister, as they have a solid Xfinity series business model.

We love being in the Xfinity Series and we’ve got a great business model, and we think we do a great job there. But it would be a big challenge but something I think that Kelley and I could put a lot of effort in for the next several years.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.
Further talking about the point, Junior pointed out that he has been on the fence about a full-time Cup entry for many years and his current situation remain the same. He asserted that he is thankful for the opportunity and if it was their final Cup entry, he is okay about it.
So, we’ll see. We’ll see. We’ve been sitting at this position for a long time, and I know people get tired of hearing it from me. But I was so thankful for this opportunity. If this was it, this was it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. added.
The two times Xfinity Series champion seems to still be in a difficult situation regrading JRM’s Cup future. They have a lot of factors to consider and a massive re-organization of the team to do before making the move to elite division.
