Damian Priest has been relishing his time as the World Heavyweight Champion. Despite being part of the heel faction Judgment Day, the WWE Universe has been on his side for the past few weeks. So much so that the Archer of Infamy has begun to take on roles typically performed by the babyfaces.
When the latest episode of SmackDown went off the air, Jey Uso and Rey Mysterio teamed up with Awesome Truth. The four men faced off against Judgment Day in an 8-man tag team match. Since it was a dark match, the superstars could let their guard down and entertain the crowd freely. That’s exactly what The Yeet Master decided to do before the match, as he asked the entire Judgment Day to perform the Yeet with him.
However, Dominik Mysterio immediately stopped the music, much to the displeasure of the crowd in the arena. He was unexpectedly interrupted by Damian Priest, who chose to join Jey and perform the Yeet before eventually attacking him. It was a memorable moment for the fans, as the Archer of Infamy defied his friends’ lead. The world champion’s antics might cost him the group he calls family.
The 41-year-old star has been a fighting champion since winning the title against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania XL. However, at SummerSlam, he will face what could be his toughest challenge yet: Gunther. The Ring General’s comments about his upbringing won over the crowd. It will be interesting to see who walks out as the World Heavyweight Champion at SummerSlam.
Gunther claims it will be the biggest win of his career if he defeats Damian Priest at SummerSlam
Gunther will be in a world title match for the first time in his career. Although he is recognized as a dominant force in the wrestling world, he still has a lot to achieve. The Ring General discussed the importance of this match in an interview.
While speaking with Cameron Hawkins of The Ringer, the 36-year-old star claimed that it would be the biggest accomplishment of his career. Gunther believed that winning the world championship was the greatest prize to achieve. The record-breaking champion also noted that every superstar dreams of being at the top and representing the company.

Although Gunther said that it was a big responsibility and privilege to hold that title, he was laser-focused on one thing: defeating the Judgment Day member and taking the title from him. Only time will tell whether The King of the Ring will manage to win the title and start another historic reign.
