Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Damian Priest revealed that he was about to quit working for WWE. He said that he was informed in 2017 that he had been rejected by the company. Priest further added that WWE told him that they had no place for him. The former World Champion said it was that moment he realized it was time to hang up his boots for good.
I gave up on the idea of working for WWE. I tried multiple times to get in, and in 2017 when I got an email saying there's just nothing for you here, I gave up.Damian Priest via Insight
Furthermore, the former Judgment Day member divulged that after a while, WWE once again contacted him to work for them. He said that call changed his life and made him the superstar he is now. The Puerto Rican star then went on to work for NXT for a while. He then made his main roster debut and eventually became the World Heavyweight Champion in Philadelphia.
As of now, he has become a household name for WWE. Being in the iconic duo with Rhea Ripley called the Terror Twins, he has been a top star on Raw. Currently, he is involved in a heated feud with the Judgment Day and Finn Balor. It is going to be interesting to see how things will pan out for the 41-year-old from here on out.
