“I was so upset,” Former World Champion reveals being mad at WWE for kicking-out Edge from The Judgment Day
The Master Manipulator was unceremoniously ousted from Judgment Day following creative disparities with the WWE management.

The Judgment Day traces its origins to Edge while he was in WWE. He took Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley under his tutelage, and they were starting to pick up steam. Unfortunately, the group leader himself was kicked out by Finn Balor, who joined forces with Priest and Ripley. But was Edge’s expulsion part of the plan right from the get-go? It wasn’t.
Recently, Damian Priest spoke to Sports Illustrated. He elucidated how the Rated-R Superstar once stayed back after a TV taping to inform the Puerto Rican about WWE’s decision to have him removed from The Judgment Day. Upon hearing this, Damian was heartbroken. And when he told Rhea Ripley, she was even more mad than Priest himself.
Edge was disappointed too, as he had envisioned bigger things for the villainous stable. But why didn’t Adam Copeland continue? It was only after he learned that the Vince McMahon-backed creative wanted him to sport a supernatural gimmick. Copeland knew how irked the fans had already been by his heel turn, and it would’ve been even worse if he were to transition into a spooky figure.
He waited to tell me after TV one night when we were on the road. I thought we were done. I was so upset. When Rhea found out, she was even more mad than me. Edge was mad, too.Damian Priest via Sports Illustrated
Eventually, the current AEW star was considered a misfit and thus was replaced by Finn Balor in The Judgment Day. The 11-time World Champion spent the next year trading blows with his ex-group. That long-standing beef was finally put to rest at WrestleMania 39 when Adam defeated the alter-ego of Balor inside Hell in a Cell.
But in hindsight, Edge must be grinning ear to ear about what Judgment Day ended up becoming. Each member of the stable won championship gold at some point. The most notable one being Damian Priest capturing the World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania XL.
The Judgment Day imploded at this year’s SummerSlam
After nearly 2.5 years of sheer dominance, Judgment Day went crumbling down at this year’s SummerSlam. At first, Rhea Ripley was betrayed by her longtime beau, Dominik Mysterio. The turn was in the works ever since Rhea went away to cure her bruised shoulder.
In the meantime, Liv Morgan established romantic ties with Dom, and it paid off in the end. Later on in the night, Damian Priest defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther. During the closing moments of the match, Finn Balor turned his back on The Archer of Infamy. Finn later explained that it had been a year in the making.
At last year’s SummerSlam, it was Priest who screwed it up for Balor in the world title bout against Seth Rollins. Balor also affirmed how Damian started pushing himself as the leader of The Judgment Day once he became a world champion. That wasn’t done, as they’d agreed to be co-equals.
