While drafting Caleb Williams as the first overall pick, the Chicago Bears were certain to find success this season. However, whether be it the fault of Offensive Coordinator Shane Waldron whom they fired, or head coach Matt Eberflus; the Bears are having a losing season, coming off two humiliating losses.
They have the opportunity to redeem themselves in the Week 11 game against the Green Bay Packers but until then, they cannot escape the criticism for the three-game losing streak. The main reason behind their decision to fire Waldron was to endure proper development of rookie quarterback. However, upon hearing from Adam Schefter that the team is even considering benching the standout USC product in favor of backup Tyson Bagent, Dan Orlovsky lost it.
Being totally frustrated by the Bears, sports analyst Orlovsky brutally called them out for their treatment of the first overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft and not giving him the environment or time to develop.

The ESPN analyst completely agreed with his colleague Mike Greenberg about the Bears being an “utter disaster” in handling Williams’ rocky start to the league. As for the report about benching Williams, it was brought by veterans but the management dismissed it.

While talking about the Bears’ quarterback room, Orlovsky also called out the franchise for passing on the chance to draft CJ Stroud or Bryce Young to get picks to build their current roster. After putting all those efforts into acquiring Williams and bringing in offensive weapons in his support, Orlovsky argued that the team didn’t allow the rookie to learn and develop.
The sports analyst argued that it’s the responsibility of the team to support their franchise quarterback, especially rookies during tough times– just like one does in marriage while dealing with tough times.
