The Los Angeles Rams started the past season dismally before turning it around and heading to the 2024-25 postseason after clinching the NFC West. The Rams, who had one of the best and most coordinated offenses of the whole season, even defeated the Buffalo Bills once and the Minnesota Vikings twice.
The Rams, heading into the offseason, had some major decisions in play. Cooper Kupp, once the OPOY, was informed that he shall be traded at the end of the season as well as Matthew Stafford potentially being traded as well. However, the management has backtracked on the trade and restructured a new contract for the QB.
With Stafford at the helm, Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky considers the Los Angeles Rams a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Speaking on ESPN’s Get Up about Stafford’s restructured contract, Orlovsky emphasized that the Rams are once again a strong contender for next season’s Super Bowl.
This is a quarterback that has the chance, and I think he’s gonna be in the Hall of Fame, but a real chance to win another Super Bowl… I think this team can do it again. But, going to the team, this is a real Super Bowl contender. I think the only team that has clearly a better roster in the NFC is the Philadelphia Eagles.
Dan Orlovsky said
"[The Rams are] a very real Super Bowl contender with [Matt] Stafford."

The Los Angeles Rams finished their season against the eventual champions, the Eagles. Nevertheless, the game was very close, and the Rams had clear chances to score inside the opponent’s red zone.
How does the Los Angeles Rams look in 2025?
On offense, the Rams boast rising stars in wide receiver Puka Nacua and running back Kyren Williams, both of whom are among the top players at their positions. In 2024, Puka Nacua recorded 79 receptions for 990 yards and 4 touchdowns across 11 games.
Nacua wasn’t as promising as his first year when he broke rookie records for receiving yards set in 1960. He also broke the record for most receptions as well.

Kyren Williams, on the other hand, had a quite decent year, making few appearances in the top stats for a running back. Williams had 316 carries, ranked third in the league, for 1299 yards and 41 touchdowns.
Defensively, the Rams are led by promising young talents such as Jared Verse, Kobie Turner, and Braden Fiske—key contributors to the team’s playoff success last season who are poised to continue their development. Jared Verse defeated Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, and his teammate Fiske to win the AP NFL Rookie Defensive Player of the Year. With two rookies in the finals, Los Angeles has a solid defense planned perfectly for the future.
With Stafford’s restructured contract in place, the Rams have the key components on both offense and defense to remain competitive in the NFC. As Orlovsky suggests, they have a legitimate chance to contend for the Super Bowl.
