Dana White has been the main man of UFC for more than 20 years now. Over the years, the CEO has dealt with several fighters and various controversies. One of the most disputed relationships White had was undoubtedly with the former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson.
Jackson recently sat down with his old rival Rashad Evans on his YouTube podcast. During the conversation, they talked about their 2010 fight. Jackson highlighted he had an injury ahead of the fight, and he felt that Dana White had told Evans about it. While going into detail, Jackson shared his legal trouble with the UFC head honcho.
Dana forced me to fight you. As soon as I got done with the movie, I went straight into the training camp. Dana was gonna sue me for $5 million. And he made me go straight into training camp. It took me six months to shoot that movie and I couldn’t train cause I already had tattoos and wigs and sh*t on. So, I went from six months no training, right to training camp and the day [UFC] came to film, I got hurt

Throughout his career, Jackson has faced some of the best fighters in the history of MMA. Maurício Rua, Wanderlei Silva, Chuck Liddell, Lyoto Machida, and the GOAT Jon Jones are some of his noteworthy opponents. Other than UFC, he has also fought in several other top MMA promotions over the years. However, his relationship with White has been the most notorious.
Jackson’s beef with White stemmed from issues over fighter pay, lack of respect, and feeling undervalued despite being a fan favorite. Their tension escalated when Jackson left the UFC, criticizing White’s treatment of fighters and later claiming they had resolved their differences. For White, the Pride FC legend wasn’t one of the best fighters to work with.

Apart from UFC’s branding and marketing, a huge credit for its success goes to a few individual fighters who changed the sport. Fighters such as Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey, etc brought in millions of new fans with exponential revenue growth. McGregor has remained the greatest superstar in the last decade and has given several top-grossing pay-per-view events.

Rousey, on the other hand, paved the way for women’s fighting, something White had no plans to do. Her popularity helped UFC to sell pay-per-views and Dana White always respected that. In a recent podcast, the CEO shared the list of the favorite fighters he worked with.
My two all-time favorites that I absolutely love to love, Chuck Liddell and Ronda Rousey. Ronda Rousey is the greatest athlete I have ever worked with…She would never say no to anything and then Conor McGregor has been a great athlete.

Chuck Liddell, in his prime, was an absolute monster and knocked out most of his opponents. He made the pay-per-view fights exciting, boosting UFC out of its dark ages. This generation of champions are top-level athletes and White is looking forward to working them hard for UFC’s success.
