Max Holloway and Alex Pereira delivered two of the most memorable performances in the history of the UFC. After the iconic night, former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub recapped the UFC 300 PPV. Moreover, he made some interesting comments about Dana White and his management technique.
Brendan Schaub gave his take on the management of UFC fighters. In the video, Schaub mentioned that the UFC and Dana White should not try to restrict fighters such as Pereira and Holloway. Schaub’s comment might allude to Pereira’s desire to compete in the heavyweight division. Nevertheless, he advocated for more control of the fighters.
Don't limit him. I'm done limiting certain guys. Certain guys I'm going to limit but, Alex, Max no. Take the leashes off. You're going to do what they wanna do.Brendan Schaub via Extra Thiccc

After his dominating win at UFC 300, Alex Pereira immediately mentioned wanting to move up to the heavyweight division. With a potential heavyweight move, the Brazilian can have the chance to become a champion in three different divisions. However, Dana White was skeptical of Pereira’s interest.
Similarly, Max Holloway, the ‘Hawaiian’ is currently open for the featherweight title fight as well as continuing at the lightweight division. Given the number of options surrounding these fighters, Dana White has the option to become flexible with matchmaking in the future. As such, Schaub wanted the UFC CEO to allow Holloway to pursue his interest.
Dana White rejects the idea of Alex Pereira moving up to the heavyweight division
Alex Pereira made it look effortless against Jamahal Hill in his light heavyweight title defense. The fighter didn’t take much time and was able to drop Hill in the very first round. Before the fight, ‘Poatan’ shared a video of him on the scales where he weighed around 232 lbs.

Given how comfortable he looked at that weight, it wasn’t surprising to see him asking for a heavyweight matchup next. However, UFC CEO Dana White didn’t like the idea and voiced against the move at the post-fight presser.
He looked damn good tonight in the division he’s in, so I think he might want to stick around there for a minute. But I don’t know. These are all things that we’ll talk about.Dana White via UFC 300 press conference

However, things fell into place on their own when heavyweight interim title holder Tom Aspinall showed his interest in fighting Pereira. At the moment, Dana White or the UFC brass has no plans to send Pereira to the heavyweight division. Things might change if ‘Poatan’ can defend his title a few more times.
