UFC is set to host its first combat sports event at the White House, marking a historic milestone for the promotion. The event is officially named UFC Freedom 250 and is planned for the South Lawn of the White House. It is scheduled for June 14th, which also coincides with Trump’s 80th birthday. Topuria is expected to headline the card in a title unification bout against interim champion Justin Gaethje.

Topuria, Gaethje, Alex Pereira, and Ciryl Gane visited the White House ahead of the event for official photo shoots and a meeting with Trump. The fighters took part in media sessions and official photographs during the visit. Topuria also spoke briefly with Trump. After the UFC Freedom 250 press conference at the Prudential Center, Topuria discussed his White House experience when asked by White.

How did it go at the White House? I saw you saying ‘you’re much nicer than I thought’. He [Trump] is a great guy.

Topuria’s video meeting with White came shortly before a heated press conference. During the press conference, Topuria nearly got into a brawl with heavyweight contender Josh Hokit. The tension escalated after Hokit disrespected and trash-talked Alex Pereira. The Brazilian star has been a close friend of ‘El Matador’ since their trip to Washington, and their shared training session on the same day of the presser.

White has remained a constant presence throughout Trump’s second term as US President. He has been a vocal supporter, actively campaigning for Trump through speeches at rallies and public appearances. White has often suggested there is a false public perception surrounding the US President. He has consistently maintained that, based on personal interactions, Trump is a good person.

It highlights major UFC figures during a politically significant promotional setting in the United States.
