Jon Jones recently found himself in a sticky situation for allegedly threatening to assault a female drug testing agent of DFSI. The situation from last week escalated when NBC News falsely reported that the Albuquerque Police Department had arrested Jones for the conduct. Many UFC personalities addressed the issue right away with the exception of UFC CEO Dana White.

During the latest Power Slap press conference, Dana White was asked about the heavyweight champ’s recent troubles with a DFSI female agent. The UFC CEO did not reveal much information about the case but did take aim at the NBC news channel for spreading misinformation about Jones’ arrest. 

That is going to play out legally, however, that is… NBC News posted that he was arrested… it’s just.. I don’t know man, it’s crazy.

Dana White was skeptical about revealing more behind-the-scene information about the incident. In the past, White has refused to publicly condemn Jones for his troubles outside the octagon. The most prominent example is the failed picogram test for UFC 232, where White relocated an entire event to accommodate Jones.

Jon Jones has a history of run-ins with the law and failed drug tests in the UFC. Jones and DFSI will have to come to an agreement or the proceedings for this incident will most likely end up in court. The heavyweight champion was set to fight Stipe Miocic upon his return to the octagon. However, the case needs to be resolved before the UFC proceeds with Jones’ future inside the octagon.

Jon Jones finds an unexpected ally in Chael Sonnen

MMA legend Chael Sonnen is standing up for ‘Bones’ amidst the recent controversy surrounding the heavyweight champ. It all started when reports surfaced that Jones had allegedly threatened a drug testing agent who visited his home. Enter Sonnen, who’s had his fair share of run-ins with Jones over the years.

Sonnen addressed the situation on X before making a video about it on YouTube. Despite having a history of ruthlessly criticizing Jones, the ‘American Gangster’ did not buy the mainstream media’s version of events. Sonnen outrightly called for Jones to be cleared from the charges levied against him.

Jon Jones, not only, should be instantly cleared… Jon Jones just maybe owed an apology.

The ‘American Gangster’ himself had a run-in with the law last year for assaulting for attacking six people in a Las Vegas hotel. The retired fighter was pulled from commentary as well as analyst duties from the UFC as a result. Sonnen’s decision to support Jones and clear him of any wrongdoings hinted at the time Jones could be forced away from the UFC as a result of the alleged assault case.
