Israel Adesanya was handed the first loss in his professional MMA career against a powerful Jan Blachowicz, in the main event of UFC 259. The Pole comprehensively beat ‘The Last Stylebender’ with two judges scoring the contest 49-45 in favour of Jan. Although, there was no disputing Jan’s win, many felt that 49-45 was quite harsh on Adesanya. And, UFC President Dana White was one among them.

Speaking at the UFC 259 press conference, White revealed that a 10-8 score for a round meant complete domination from a fighter, especially during the time he entered the fight business. He believed that there wasn’t a single round where Israel Adesanya was thoroughly dominated.

The scoring is insane

White was quoted as saying, “The scoring is insane. These guys are giving out 10-8 rounds (expletives)…There were two rounds in that fight that they gave a 10-8. When I came up into the fight business, a 10-8 is an a** whooping. You got your a** whooped. You didn’t do sh*t in that round and got beat down if it was a 10-8. They gotta stop giving this. This 10-8 sh*t is outta control right now, so hopefully we can get this fixed and they are gonna screw up a lot of fights there. They’re handing out 10-8 s like that. There was no 10-8 in that fight.” [H/T FirstSportz]

Well, Adesanya did get dominated in the final rounds. But, he had the upper hand during the initial part of the final rounds, before Jan decided to take him down. Do you think the judges were right in scoring a couple of rounds 10-8 in favour of Jan Blachowicz? Or is the UFC president right?
