Dana White reveals that super fight between Adesanya and Jones could happen next
There must be no two other guys in the world who would have wanted to face each other in the Octagon than Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones. Both of them got involved in a twitter war that even involved many below the belt hits from both of them. This has caught the attention of many people around the world including the UFC President Dana White.
Dana White is currently weighing up the next possible opponent for Adesanya and this list includes Jones too. Because of the latest feud between these too Adesanya wants to move to light heavyweight and fight Jones. Light Heavyweight is now the zone of Jan Blachowicz and he already said that he will crack the head of Adesanya if he moves there.
“It’s a great problem to have. The problem is that the winner of this fight should absolutely get the shot. You could look at the Blachowicz fight and say ‘Oo that’s fun too.’ Jon Jones is fun. He’s got a lot of options. It’s never a bad thing when you have a lot of options,” Dana White added.
But White is not ruling out Jones from the list of probable opponents for Adesanya. The Last Stylebender already issued a challenge for Jonny Bones to face him at the international fight week, now if this super fight really happens it is going to be the fight of the millennium.
White wants Adesanya to fight No 1 contender
At this Sunday’s UFC 254 event Robert Whittaker and Jared Cannonier will enter the Octagon against each other. Adesanya already showed his intention that if Cannonier wins this fight Izzy wants to face him next and Dana White is also in favor of this.
He said, “The winner of Cannonier vs Whittaker should get the next shot. He said he will fight Cannonier, I already beat Whittaker. But the Whittaker fight if Whittaker wins makes a lot of sense too.”
White wants the middleweight champ to defend his title against the number 1 contender who will emerge after the fight between both of these. After the title defense against Paulo Costa, Izzy has a lot of contenders lined up to face him next.
Now even Dana White is showing intentions for this fight it is very much possible that this verbal battle moves in the Octagon too.
