UFC Saudi Arabia turned out to be a major hit among the fight fans. The card was filled with incredible match-ups, which kept the crowd entertained. However, the heavyweight clash between Sergei Pavlovich and Jairzinho Rozenstruik was a letdown. Even UFC CEO Dana White was disappointed with how that fight played out.
Dana White had a busy post-fight presser where he talked about various things, including the fights. While he was impressed by the main and co-main events, the much anticipated heavyweight clash attracted criticism from the UFC CEO. It was a snoozefest, and got booed by the fans inside the ANB Arena in Riyadh.
While White was blunt about his opinion, he did back Pavlovich on getting the win. According to White, the Russian has frequently given incredible knockout finishes, and it was just a bad day at the office. Pavlovich has 15 knockout finishes out of which six came inside the UFC octagon.
The journalists who asked the question also talked about the lack of serious competition in the current heavyweight division. While responding to this, White shared that irrespective of the fight, Pavlovich is the winner and will go forward to fight top heavyweights. The CEO also gave a positive hint on the much-anticipated title clash that everyone has been waiting for.
Dana White’s ultimate heavyweight dream fight: Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall
The Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall heavyweight title unification bout has been on the table for a long time now. Initially, Aspinall had the support of many fans, who wanted him to replace Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. However, that didn’t happen. Now, the British UFC heavyweight is eagerly waiting for his chance against the GOAT.
Jones, however, is more interested in fighting Alex Pereira instead due to the Brazilian’s reputation. However, Dana White has already confirmed that the fight will take place this year. In a recent interview, he clarified all the doubts regarding the much-anticipated clash.
Jones, is currently on the last stint of his professional career, and wants to make as much as money from UFC. The legendary fighter has also taken steps towards acting with his upcoming Netflix debut. It seems like against Aspinall, it could be Jones’ last fight and UFC has the opportunity to make it great.
