Dana White has teased his entry into the boxing world for months, and now it’s official. The UFC CEO has announced a major collaboration with Saudi boxing promoter Turki Alalshikh, marking his long-anticipated debut as a boxing promoter. The news has already sent shockwaves through the combat sports world, catching the attention of super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez.
White along with UFC parent company TKO, and Alalshikh have come together to inaugurate a new promotion. White and WWE President Nick Khan will take responsibility for the promotion, which has high hopes. Alvarez, in a recent interview, was asked about this new development and the fighter had some positive points to share.
I think it’s the best for the fighters out there, I’m fine with that. I think they’re gonna build the best for the fighters, I’m pretty sure about that, and I’m glad somebody take care of the fighters because there are a lot of promoters that don’t take the fighters seriously.

According to reports, there will be a big kickoff event this September, and Alvarez is rumored to be part of it. The Mexican superstar recently signed a multi-million dollar four-fight deal with Alalshikh. As a result, him fighting on the September card could definitely happen.

In the interview, the boxer revealed that he’s focused on his upcoming title defense in May. Alvarez will defend his belt against the new IBF champion and mandatory contender William Scull. Last year, Alvarez and White were fighting for the PPV gate in Las Vegas, and the tables have turned in 2025.
Dana White’s first love will always be boxing
After becoming the head honcho of UFC, Dana White mostly was critical of boxing and its system. He has publicly mocked top promoters for investing in the sport and ruining it. However, White has always been a passionate boxing fan. Before making the UFC a global success, he even tried managing boxers. He once pursued the biggest names in boxing, but became frustrated with the sport’s politics.

Despite this, he still admires boxing legends and even attempted to promote high-profile boxing events. UFC veteran Chael Sonnen recently talked about White’s decision to enter boxing. The Hall of Famer seemed excited and shared his unique observation.
I gotta tell you I am really pumped. You must understand Dana White as a human being who was a little boy at one time he didn’t have a goal and dream of getting into MMA it was boxing.

White has a great track record as the CEO of UFC, and will likely continue the same momentum in the world of boxing. With his brainchild Power Slap struggling to get big broadcasting fights, White might put all his focus on making this boxing venture work.
