Following UFC 300’s success, Dana White responded fiercely to MMA pundits who initially questioned the fight card. These included MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub, and other popular MMA YouTubers. However, Helwan later objected to White for only considering his critique and ignoring his praise.

Ariel Helwani took to his Instagram page and shared two screenshots of articles. These articles basically showed Helwani defending and praising Dana White. In the caption, the popular MMA reporter claimed to have ‘peace and love’ and also sarcastically roasted White for his ignorance.

Dana White’s Instagram post regarding the media underestimating the fight card was pretty direct. The UFC CEO took a sharp jab at the criticism by posting a montage of UFC 300. It is quite evident that fans loved UFC 300, and the fighters delivered some iconic performances that night.

White always had the trust in the card and the fighters who were featured in it. He even went on to claim that it was the greatest card ever assembled in combat sports history. Seeing all the criticism, even before the card was aired, might have snapped White, who put so much into making the event.

This is not the first time where White and the UFC have done such a thing. In the past, the UFC released a video mocking all the critics who panned the company for putting on events during the Covid pandemic era. Similarly, White did the same for UFC 300 as well. So far, only Helwani has replied with ‘receipts.’

What happened between Dana White and Ariel Helwani at UFC 199?

One of the biggest beefs in the history of UFC is surprisingly not between any two fighters. Surprisingly, it features UFC boss Dana White and top MMA journalist Ariel Helwani. It started at UFC 199 when Helwani broke the news about Brock Lesnar’s comeback on the UFC 200 fight card.

However, Dana White and the UFC didn’t like that Helwani ruined their major surprise for the fight fans. Helwani was issued with a ban from all UFC events in the future. According to many reports, since then, the UFC lifted the ban. However, Helwani chooses not to attend any events anymore. 

This has not stopped both Helwani and White from frequently criticizing each other on social media and other public forums. Recently, White mocked the journalist along with others in their initial comment on UFC 300. On the other hand, Helwani has often criticized many of UFC’s policies. Sometimes, he doesn’t shy away from giving credit where it’s due.
