Daniel Cormier accuses ‘Israel Adesanya is dodging Jon Jones’
Robert ‘The Reaper’ Whittaker once again emerged as the number one contender in a fight against Jared Cannonier. He achieved this by an impressive win over Cannonier by UD at UFC 254 co-main event. However, UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya isn’t interested in fighting with Robert Whittaker again.
Adesanya is aiming to go up and fight the Light Heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz. Adesanya’s coach earlier spoken that Adesanya wants to be the double champion and face The Polish Power next. In his latest tweet, Adesanya says, “Champ Squared” by which it is clear that he has his eyes on double championship now.
But Jan Blachowicz is not someone you can sleep on he was the underdog in the fight against Dominick Reyes but he defeated him and won the championship. Blachowicz is also ready for the challenge; he says “I have heard that Israel Adesanya wants to face me next. No problem, if you are ready to fight in March, let’s do this. Prepare for some fireworks guys”.
Jones will return to Light Heavyweight to fight Adesanya
The feud between Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya is known by all. This fight is also one of the major prospects of UFC to be targeted in 2021. But the former two-division champion Daniel Cormier feels like the Kiwi champion is ducking the fight with Jon Jones.
While talking to Ariel Helwani, Cormier says “If he goes up and fights Blachowicz, if he somehow refused to fight Jones, at that point because he said he wanted to take time to get into weight class, get rid of his split, not a good look. That tells me you don’t want to fight that guy”.
He added, “If Adesanya rises to 205 and get the belt in his hand. There’s no getting around him to fight Jon Jones. It’s going to happen because the moment Jones says I want to go to 205, the UFC should almost feel obligated to give him a little shot even though I don’t like that guy”.
“If Jones says I’m back at 205 immediately all competitors, every number one fights, everyone walks out of the window and he steps right into the title shot. If Israel Adesanya takes the hold of the belt, trust me Jones will be back to fight him”.
