UFC fighters have fun with each other during fight week. The UFC light heavyweight king Alex Pereira has a lighter side other than the dangerous version seen in the octagon. Ahead of UFC 301 in Brazil, Pereira had a hilarious wrestling match with Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier backstage.
The 55-second long video was uploaded to X and features Alex Pereira and Daniel Cormier. The two mixed martial artists couldn’t resist a little impromptu grappling, much to Cormier’s dismay. ‘Poatan’ grappled with the former two-division champion, putting him on his back foot. He then started requesting Pereira to stop, but in typical Pereira fashion, he kept going. He ultimately took Cormier down to the ground.

Cormier hilariously started yelling for security to help him as he was put on the ground. A security personnel arrived and asked Pereira to get off Daniel Cormier while grabbing him to disengage. Cormier then stood up and walked to a room. He hilariously warned Pereira that he should ‘look behind your head’ and he would avenge himself. The video ended with Alex Pereira looking at Cormier and saying ‘Chama.’
Pereira recently got his black belt in BJJ. He was in town to witness this weekend’s UFC 301 card in Rio de Janeiro. The main headliner of this card pits Brazil’s very own Alexandre Pantoja against the Aussie Steve Erceg. This fight would determine the champion of the flyweight division.
Khamzat Chimaev bullies Daniel Cormier
UFC fighters are always hilariously wrestling Daniel Cormier and rising star Khamzat Chimaev was no exception. During an impromptu grappling exchange, he utterly manhandled the former two-division champion and current analyst Daniel Cormier.

The captured footage happened during fighter hotel arrivals for the UFC 294 pay-per-view. The conversation started innocently enough. This was until the undefeated Chechen contender suddenly shot in for a tie-up and it escalated rapidly. The two began wrestling semi-competitively as a result. Chimaev shockingly elevated the 5’11” Cormier completely off the ground in what looked like an effortless body lock lift.
The grinning, wide-eyed Cormier flailed helplessly in mid-air as Chimaev just laughed and toyed with him. He even chased a squirming “DC” down the hallway. It was an incredible display of raw power and physicality from Chimaev. Of course, the always affable Cormier seemed to take the spontaneous bullying in stride. Both men laugh even as Chimaev picks up the proud wrestler like a small child.
