Since parting ways with the New York Giants, quarterback Daniel Jones has clearly articulated his preferences for his next team. When he did not receive an offer that aligned with his desires, he promptly declined the opportunity to join the Las Vegas Raiders, who are currently holding a 2-9 record.
Given how his five and a half-year stint ended with the Giants, Jones did not want the pressure to be “that guy” in his next team and carry the burden of the entire team. Instead, he is focused on joining a playoff-contending team. The struggling Raiders, who are currently facing challenges in their quarterback situation, do not meet Jones’ criteria for his next team.
Prior to waiving the four-year contract worth $160 million, the Raiders had emerged as an interesting team to acquire free agent Jones, but he rejected them since he wanted to spend the remaining season with a playoff contender team.

Jones has finally entered the free agency market after clearing waivers on Monday, which means he is allowed to negotiate with any team he desires. The former first-overall pick is expected to join a practice squad or serve as a backup for a contender team, such as the Baltimore Ravens or San Francisco 49ers.
Daniel Jones may eye Ravens as potential landing spot
Among the many teams, Jones is expected to consider a contract from the Ravens, who are holding an 8-4 record led by Lamar Jackson. Former Sports Illustrated journalist Peter King gave his expert analysis on Jones’ future, highlighting he does not want a multi-year contract.
Although the Minnesota Vikings are also considered a potential landing spot as Sam Darnold’s tenure ends next season, it may again put Jones in the spotlight of the field with more playing time. But with the Ravens, he would get an opportunity to enhance his skills and learn to manage a solid offense from Jackson.
