Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev has talked about the rise of social media and its effect on his life. While Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner cited the sinister side of social media platforms as the reason for his staying away from them, Medvedev has talked about him using them for good.
When the World No. 4 tennis player was asked about the influence of social media on his life and if there was something that threw him off balance, Medvedev said that he grew up in a time when social media platforms were booming.

Medvedev then talked about his use of such platforms. The Russian tennis star said that, as he can’t completely avoid using social media, he tries to use it as little as possible. Medvedev said that he uses them to read a few comments but does not get too deep into them because they might find something offensive.
I grew up in the era of social networks. When I was 10-12 years old, Facebook and VKontakte began to gain popularity. Therefore, to some extent, I depend on them and try to use them as little as possible in order to read some comments - because everything that people write can offend. So I try to use them only in a positive way.Daniil Medvedev said in his interview to Sport Express.
Daniil Medvedev claims he avoids social media when he loses a game
Daniil Medvedev went into detail to reveal when he uses social media and when he avoids going to those platforms. The Russian ace said that he avoids using social media platforms whenever he loses a match. However, when he won, Medvedev said he liked to read praiseworthy comments.

Medvedev added that while he avoids using such platforms after a defeat, however, if he gets onto it somehow, he avoids reading negative comments.
When you win, everyone praises you. When you lose, it's all negative. Therefore, when I win, I read something. Everyone praised me, it was nice. But when I lose, I don't go to social networks and make sure I don't see any bad comments. Some time will pass, I'll win again, and then I'll come back again.Daniil Medvedev said.
Notably, talking about Jannik Sinner‘s stance on this, the Italian stated that he does not like to share about his personal life on social media. The 22-year-old said that he lives better without them.
