‘I hope he keeps winning just so we can have that fight’ – Israel Adesanya expresses his desire to take on Darren Till oneday
Darren Till and Israel Adesanya
Israel Adesanya is just a couple of days away from his light-heavyweight debut against Jan Blachowicz, which is also a title bout. The ‘Last Stylebender’ reigned as the undisputed king of the middleweight division when he defeated Paulo Costa at UFC 253. The Nigerian-born-New Zealander, who is still unbeaten in his MMA career also beat the likes of Robert Whittaker, Yoel Romero, Anderson Silva, thereby conquering the division to the fullest.
Speaking in an interview with Ariel Helwani of ESPN MMA, Adesanya revealed that Darren Till is the only middleweight fighter who intrigues him. He also wished that the Scouse kept winning so that he and Till could have a fight one day.
‘Israel Adesanya hasn’t given up on Darren Till as a potential opponent’
“To be honest none of them except Till. I hope he keeps winning just so we can have that fight…He just gotta win, man! He gotta get his sh*t together and keep winning, Till. Come on, Scouser!”, Adesanya was quoted as saying.
Israel Adesanya is still the reigning middleweight champion and might become a two-division champion, if he beats Jan Blachowicz, come the 6th of March. Till, on the other hand, has had a poor run of form – winning just one of his last four fights. His last fight was against the number one ranked middleweight contender Robert Whittaker, which he lost via. unanimous decision.
What are your thoughts on this? Can Darren Till find his form and get back to winning ways, so that Izzy gets the fight he wants? Who do you think will win, if they ever had a fight?
