Looks like there is another intriguing rivalry around the corner. After Anthony Taylor‘s recent victory in the boxing ring, he called out former UFC contender Darren Till. This led to Till’s dismissive response on social media where he belittled Taylor’s skills and promised an easy knockout. Here is what happened:

Darren Till recently responded to Anthony Taylor‘s callout. This happened after Taylor’s win at Misfits Boxing 17, where Taylor defeated Gabriel Silva, the son of Anderson Silva. Till accepted the challenge but dismissed Taylor’s skill level. He even suggested the fight could happen in Liverpool, emphasizing that he is ready to face Taylor anywhere and anytime.

Because you sir are f*cking sh*te, and I think everyone else on it is sh*te. I will not even train for someone like you and I will knock you flat out, OK?

The two fighters are from different backgrounds. Anthony Taylor is a former Bellator MMA fighter. He transitioned to boxing in 2021 and has gained quite some attention in the Misfits Boxing series. Meanwhile, Darren Till is a former UFC welterweight title challenger. He was released from the UFC in 2023 after a string of losses.

Till’s return to combat sports after leaving the UFC quickly became a viral sensation, but not for the reasons one might expect. After making his boxing debut at Social Knockout 3 in Dubai against Mohammad Mutie, Till found himself in a chaotic post-fight brawl.

The controversy started during the second round when Mutie claimed that Till had struck him in the back of the head. This led to a heated exchange and eventually a melee inside the ring. Despite winning the fight via technical knockout, the bizarre turn of events overshadowed his debut.

Anthony Taylor slapped by Anderson Silva’s son ahead of boxing showdown

At the press conference for Misfits Boxing 17, tensions between Anthony Taylor and Gabriel Silva escalated dramatically. The heated exchange began when Taylor threw aggressive insults toward Silva and his family. ‘Pretty Boy’ particularly targeted Silva’s father, MMA legend Anderson Silva.

Taylor’s comments provoked Gabriel Silva, who responded with his own insults. As the two faced off on stage, the situation boiled over when Silva, seemingly out of patience, slapped Taylor across the face. The slap triggered an intense reaction from Taylor, who charged at Silva and had to be restrained by security personnel to prevent the altercation from escalating further.

Both fighters were eventually removed from the stage to de-escalate the situation. The fight turned out to be a dominant performance by Taylor. He took control in the ring and aggressively outboxed Silva throughout the fight. Taylor ultimately won the fight via third-round knockout.
