There’s little doubt that Joe Burrow is among the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Burrow’s armory contains every tool required to be an elite signal caller. It’s no surprise his peers hold him in such high regard.

Davante Adams is part of that group. The veteran wide receiver recently expressed his desire to play with Burrow.

I’m passing the phone to somebody I wish I had a chance to play with.

Davante Adams said

The video was filmed at a training facility in Los Angeles, where NFL stars like Adams and Burrow are gearing up for the upcoming Flag Football tournament. Teams headed by Tom Brady and Jalen Hurts will compete against each other to promote football’s sister sport.

At a March 18 event in LA, Burrow shared that he had always dreamed of playing on the same team as Adams.

This is a guy I’ve always wanted to play with.

Burrow declared

Burrow, 29, has earned Pro Bowl status three times in his career, and he is a two-time winner of the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year Award. He won the Pro Bowl nods for his performances during the 2022, 2024, and 2025 seasons.

Last year, Burrow played just 8 games for the Cincinnati Bengals. He went 5-3 before suffering a turf-toe injury, which ended his year early. Burrow completed 66.8% of his passes for 1809 yards, throwing 17 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

The highlight of Burrow’s career came with a victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2021 AFC Championship game. Cincinnati won 27-24 in overtime. Burrow threw 22 completions for 250 yards, 2 touchdowns, and one interception. Perhaps defeating Mahomes is the reason Burrow has earned respect across the league.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals hit with disappointing news ahead of the 2026 NFL season

The 2026 free agency began with the news about Maxx Crosby possibly leaving the Las Vegas Raiders. The Baltimore Ravens agreed to trade for the All-Pro edge rusher by sending a couple of high draft picks to Vegas.

However, the deal collapsed at the last moment, forcing Crosby to return to the Raiders. Baltimore then signed former Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson, who declined to sign an extension after waiting patiently for nearly two years.

With Hendrickson no longer in the building, insider sources linked Crosby to the Bengals. A trade right now seems unlikely to happen, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

If you’re Maxx Crosby and you’re the [Las Vegas] Raider you say you are, and he is, why do you want to leave that now when the Raiders are putting together some parts that make it more encouraging and give you more optimism than you had about that team in recent memory?

Schefter said on his podcast

Schefter sees Crosby to suit up in the familiar silver and black during the 2026 NFL season. The Bengals did not waste much time in finding Hendrickson’s replacement. Boye Mafe was signed on a three-year deal. Of course, Mafe was part of the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl LX winning roster last season. But Daniel Propper of The Athletic argued that Mafe isn’t on the same level as Hendrickson.

[Boye] Mafe was a rotational piece on Seattle’s loaded Super Bowl defensive front in 2025. He played 50 percent of the defense’s snaps under coach Mike Macdonald, but he has upside in more of a full-time starter role. Mafe is an elite athlete with a high motor and closing speed in space. He is also disruptive against the run. He needs to refine his pass-rushing moves to take the next step in his career.

Propper wrote

Luckily for the Bengals, they’re set to play the third-easiest schedule, with their opponents holding a combined win percentage of just .450 in 2025.
