Tyler Glasnow delivered a heavy blow to the Los Angeles Dodgers with his latest injury update. According to reports by manager Dave Roberts, Glasnow is “highly unlikely” to pitch again this season.
He has now landed on the IL with an indefinite return time. The pitcher has even cleared out his locker at Truist Park in Atlanta and where he is currently is unknown. Even Roberts said, “I don’t know where he flew to.”
The team lost Tyler Glasnow with an ailing sprained elbow. He missed quality time in June with back tightness and even last month due to tendinitis. The team will undoubtedly miss a key figure as they head into the 2024 playoff race.
Earlier Glasnow was asked what he felt to be marred with injuries,
I mean, given the amount of innings and the amount of injuries the previous years, I think, to say that is probably fair. I think that, for me, the majority of the innings that I’ve missed had been related to the same (elbow) injury.Tyler Glasnow as per Erich Richter of NY Post.
After avoiding media for two days, #Dodgers Tyler Glasnow is apparently no longer with the team in Atlanta. Locker has been cleared out. Name plate taken down.

Despite the odds, Dave Roberts is confident in the team and believes they can pull anything off if it so requires. While he admits Glasnow’s injury has been a “big blow” to the team, it is something they have to overcome.
I’m still confident. I don’t think there’s one way to win a championship…So we’re going to have the guys we have, and I feel confident in whoever we run out there.Dave Roberts as per Maren Angus-Coombs of SI.
It has been one of his best seasons and crucial for the Dodgers who have been sending their star players to IL and rehab. Even their star pitcher Shohei Ohtani is not able to pitch this season due to Tommy John surgery last year.
Fans react to devastating Tyler Glasnow news
While Dave Roberts is keeping even Shohei Ohtani’s pitching window open in the playoff, nothing is official yet. However, for now, it seems the team will run with Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Jack Flaherty for the postseason.
The LA Dodgers have unfortunately been dealing with injuries a lot this season. After releasing the latest update on Glasnow, an X user noted, “We all saw this one coming.” While another said, “Feel bad for the guy. Never really been able to stay healthy.”

Glasnow started the season strong, recording a score of 3.49 ERA with 134 innings pitched and 168 strikeouts. Roberts said “I feel bad for Tyler” as he’s done everything he could to stay healthy, but unfortunately it couldn’t be the case.
