David Beckham celebrated England’s latest FIFA World Cup victory by sharing a series of Instagram Stories, including a video of supporters singing Oasis’ “Wonderwall” after the team’s 2-0 Group L win over Panama on June 27 at New York New Jersey Stadium in New Jersey.
The former England captain attended the match from the stands as Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham scored to secure England’s victory.
Following the game, Beckham praised the goalscorers by posting a photo of Kane and Bellingham with the three word message, “Leading by example.” He also tagged England’s national team in the Story.
Beckham later recognized another milestone from the match after Kane became England’s all time leading World Cup scorer. The Bayern Munich striker’s first half goal was his 11th at the FIFA World Cup, moving him ahead of Gary Lineker’s previous record.
Sharing a photo of Kane celebrating on the pitch, Beckham wrote, “More records breaking.” He also added a heart emoji to the post.
The former midfielder also highlighted the atmosphere inside the stadium after the final whistle by sharing a video of England supporters singing Oasis’ “Wonderwall” as players acknowledged the traveling fans. Over the footage, Beckham wrote, “Sing it loud & proud.” He also tagged Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher.
The Britpop anthem has become closely linked with England’s 2026 World Cup campaign after supporters repeatedly sang it following the team’s victories. Speaking to The Sun after England’s win over Croatia earlier in the tournament, Noel Gallagher said, “‘Wonderwall’ belongs to the people, and it was a magical moment between the people and the players. Best of luck to everyone who’s made the trip out there.”
Beckham also shared a photo overlooking the field after the match with the message, “Thank you, New Jersey,” accompanied by an American flag sticker. England’s victory over Panama kept the team on course for the knockout stage, where it is expected to face either Senegal or the Democratic Republic of Congo at Atlanta Stadium on July 1.
David Beckham previously opened up about watching England at the FIFA World Cup
David Beckham has remained a regular presence at England’s matches throughout the 2026 World Cup. Just days before the Panama victory, he attended England’s scoreless draw against Ghana at Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where photographers captured his changing emotions during the match.
Earlier this year, Beckham reflected on the difference between watching England from the stands and representing the country on the field, having previously played at the 1998, 2002 and 2006 FIFA World Cups.

“I’d say it’s having the same feeling you have as a player: Being completely invested in the game, celebrating the big moments and sharing that with the fans,” Beckham told PEOPLE.
He also explained the pressure players face during the tournament. “Every moment matters, from training sessions to how you recover between games. At the same time, there’s a real sense of pride and responsibility. You’re not just playing for yourself or your club. You’re representing your country, your family, and millions of fans. It’s an incredible feeling, but it can take a lot out of you mentally and physically.”
England opened its World Cup campaign with a 4-2 win over Croatia, then drew 0-0 with Ghana and defeated Panama 2-0 to continue its run in the tournament.
