David Beckham turned things around as he switched football for frames and long shots. The Inter Miami co-owner linked up with iconic beer brand Stella Artois for a new advertisement featuring his ‘long-lost brother’. For the promotional campaign set to be featured on the Super Bowl, Beckham introduced Hollywood actor Matt Damon as his brother.

The advert starts with David Beckham’s on-screen parents confessing about having left his brother, who they called ‘other David’ in the US. Then it kicks off with the football legend taking a trip to the States only to find Matt Damon as his brother.

While the two catch up, the commercial represents that the ‘other David’ is also a famous personality, with tremendous soccer skills. In a hilarious turn of events, Damon asks Beckham if he was popular or Ben Affleck. To the former’s disappointment, he chooses Affleck.

The commercial was directed by Ben Affleck and produced through Artists Equity, the production company he co-founded with Damon. In an interview with the Hollywood reporter, David Beckham shed some light on the experience working on the advert. The plot was an immediate yes for him after knowing the people who were involved. Additionally, he shed light on the help he received from Damon and Affleck in terms of acting.

The commercial will be a part of the upcoming Super Bowl after which Stella Artois planned to grow on the storyline. David Beckham will likely be a spectator at the Caesers Superdome in New Orleans on Feb 9. The stadium will see the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts battle it out for the championship.

Maria Sharapova reacts to David Beckham and Matt Damon’s Super Bowl ad

Maria Sharapova had just the reaction David Beckham and the team intended while making the Stella commercial. The amusing clip had ‘long-lost brothers’ Beckham and Matt Damon bonding over their affinity for this particular beer. The tennis star had a message for the soccer legend on her Instagram story as she reposted the advert.

In a playful message, Sharapova seemed glad that Beckham had reunited with Damon. While they’re at it catching up, the tennis star shared she’ll be enjoying her own fill of Stella Artois. The commercial is comical because Beckham and Damon have been called lookalikes on multiple occasions.

Hence, her comment was appropriate to the fans’ liking. However, Sharapova’s comment didn’t come out of the blue as she had been connected with the brand for quite some time. The trio was also spotted at an event organized by the brand in September to support a non-profit organization.
