Former Manchester United goalkeeping star David De Gea has been recently linked with a move to two Saudi Pro League sides. This move would mark the Spaniard’s return to club football after nearly a year-long hiatus.
A year after leaving Manchester United, goalkeeper David De Gea is reportedly has been in discussions with two Saudi PL teams including Al-Shabab. Initially, the 33-year-old was in contact with several clubs at the start of the previous season, but his substantial £375,000 per week wage demand proved to be a significant obstacle, ultimately sidelining him for a year.
De Gea is arguably one of the best Premier League goalkeepers of the past 15 years, winning the Premier League Golden Glove twice and making the PFA Team of the Season five times. He left Manchester United after a twelve-year stint, having joined from Atletico Madrid as a young player. However, his form declined in recent seasons, leading to his departure. He was subsequently replaced by Inter Milan star Andre Onana in a record-breaking transfer.
