David de Gea has reportedly snubbed an offer from Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Saudi giants Al-Nassr. The Saudi Pro League club identified the former Manchester United #1 as their latest big-name signing. However, it is understood that the 33-year-old is against the idea of following suit in the Saudi exodus, and is ready to turn down a £500K per week contract. Even though the player has offers from clubs in Spain, there has been no decision regarding the Spaniard’s future.
David de Gea left Manchester United last summer, and his departure was clouded with controversy. Even though the club may bring De Gea back on a short-term deal, it is unclear whether the player is willing to do so. Andre Onana will be unavailable for team selection in January – February after Cameroon secured qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations.
It is understood that David de Gea’s wife, Edurne is against the idea of moving to Saudi. Subsequent interest from Valencia in La Liga may be hampered by financial barriers as well. So, linking up with Cristiano Ronaldo seems out of the question now.
Amidst the purported move to join the Saudi Pro League which has not yet materialized, fans have caught hold of news that another club is interested in the player. If found true, the move will bring out a meltdown on social media.
Inter Miami look to sign former Manchester United keeper David de Gea
Amidst rumors that David de Gea will retire and potentially move back to United, a new club has come on the horizon, seeking the player’s signature. MLS club Inter Miami have expressed their interest in securing David de Gea’s signature in recent times. The player is currently without a club and is considering retirement if he doesn’t get a move to a ‘top league’.
The club has already managed to sign Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba in the period of the last few months. The club owned by Manchester United legend David Beckham will look to offer the Golden Glove winner of last season a lucrative contract to join the MLS outfit. As per several media outlets, David Beckham is ‘quietly optimistic’ about bringing the Spaniard to his club.
The MLS season won’t start until late February, giving the club time to persuade the Spaniard. There are reports of the player being linked to the takeover of Segunda División club Eldense. Additionally, he met with the current club president Pascual Pérez, who is also the President and founder of the eSports club Rebels Gaming.
