The UFC will see its second event of 2024 this February. For UFC 298, the organisation decided to make a major change which came as a surprise to many. Daniel Cormier will not be present for this fight. Rather he will be replaced by none other than Michael Bisping. Here is what happened:
Former UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping will replace Daniel Cormier for UFC 298. The rest of the commentary team includes Jon Anik handling play-by-play duties and Joe Rogan with the color commentary. The fight will take place this February in Anaheim, California.
The main event at UFC 298 will feature Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Volkanovski will defend his featherweight title against the undefeated Topuria. Meanwhile, the co-main event will feature the former middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker taking on Paulo Costa who just came off of surgery.
After retirement, Michael Bisping made his UFC commentary debut in 2019 at UFCFN 144. In 2020, he made his UFC pay-per-view commentary debut at UFC 251 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He also started commenting for Power Slap last year. Cormier is a regular commentator for major UFC events. Thus, the change to Bisping came as a surprise to a lot of fans.

Fans were excited to see the change for now. Cormier has been a regular member of the commentary team for years now. Michael Bisping replacing Cormier for this fight is a fresh change that many fans agreed with in the comments.
