Call DeAndre Hopkins a lot of things, DHop, a veteran wide receiver, the beast with dreads, but never call him washed. The wide receiver for the Tennessee Titans clapped back at his critics via a recent post on X.

In his post, DeAndre Hopkins replied to one of his own highlight videos. DHop was hitting back at Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, who in his piece after the Arizona Cardinals released him had hinted that his best days were behind him.

Remember the articles from so called top executives saying I can't play anymore. In Ran We trust.

It was a plausible conclusion to derive, especially considering that Hopkins had missed 8 games in 2022, most of which stemmed from his violation of the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. To add to the DHop slander, some executives came out and opted to say that he was not the same man he was in Houston.

Then came the Tennessee Titans, who took a shot at him by signing him to a two-year deal worth $26 million. In his first season, he broke the 1,000-yard receiving barrier on 75 receptions and had 7 touchdowns. Not bad for a wideout who was believed to have been washed right?

The now 32-year-old wideout cannot possibly play at the same level he did while he was in Houston, however, that does not mean he is a scrub. There is a reason that he has earned five Pro Bowls and three First-Team All-Pro selections.

This season, he has the opportunity to team up with a wide receiver who is on the same footing as him, at least from a talent perspective. DeAndre Hopkins, for the first time in his career, has a talented wideout as Calvin Ridley on the roster. The Tennessee Titans offense is complete and has the potential to be one of the most dangerous in the NFL. It will be exciting to see how the team fares with this fresh talent.
