Deep Dark in Minecraft 1.19: Changes in The Wild Update!

Minecraft Live 2021 was a huge success for both the developers and the community with hype about the new changes and positive feedback. The Deep Dark in Minecraft 1.19 has been announced with new changes, additions and features that are a welcome change to the boring Cave systems earlier planned.

The Wild Update is the next step for Minecraft after the caves and Cliffs update releases sometime in December. The Deep Dark which was supposed to arrive in the Part II update but has been further moved back to Minecraft 1.19. This is because there has been many additions to the Deep Dark.

The Deep Dark is the attempt by the developers to introduce a great horror aspect to the game and balance it out with the beautiful natural aspects of the jungle biome revamp and the Swamp update.

There are many new additions to the Deep Dark that have the players on the edge and here is a list of all of them.

This is possibly the biggest and most interesting aspect of the Deep Dark update that will arrive along with the Wild Update. This will replace the earlier empty Sculk Caves and features big stone cities that provide another mysterious naturally generated structure to explore.

Players can find unique Stone blocks, Soul lanterns, Redstone Lamps, and much more. The area will be infested by Sculk blocks, Sculk Shriekers, Sculk Sensors and Sculk catalyst.

Sculk Shriekers will be a new addition and uses the vibrations picked up by the Sculk Sensors to emit loud noises. This will attract the Warden if triggered too often.

Sculk Catalyst

Sculk Catalysts are also a new block and is responsible for spreading sculk to other blocks when any mob is killed near them. Breaking the Sculk infested blocks can also give the players EXP.

Lastly, we have the much awaited Warden mob that will be like a mini boss found only in the Deep Dark in Minecraft. This Mob is a towering bipedal guardian which will be the first blind mob to be introduced in the game. They are hostile towards the players and will locate them with vibrations.

They have been shown to two-shot a Netherite clad player, and can be quite the challenge to face. However, some new features have also been showcased to be added later.

Now the Warden will spawn from under the ground when the Sculk Shrikers are triggered too many times. Moreover, they now have a sense of smell and can detect the players with it when very close to them.

These are all the updates that the new Deep Dark in Minecraft 1.19 will showcase and will release along with the Wild update sometime next year!
