When Shedeur Sanders and his Cleveland Browns teammates were without a head coach this offseason, many wondered if his father, Deion Sanders, would fancy taking up the job.
The latter endured a disappointing season with the Colorado Buffaloes, and many felt that his mind might be focused on the NFL as his two sons were fighting for a chance.
Had he become the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, maybe his quarterback son would have permanently had a QB1 status attached to his job role, and Shilo Sanders would have been signed to play as a backup safety.
Now, with Todd Monken at the helm, Shedeur Sanders’ role is back to ‘to be determined.’ This brings up the possibility of Deion Sanders coaching in the future, if the job entices him, or that is what many felt it would be.
Not whatsoever. What transpired with my son last year? Ain’t no way in the world.
Deion Sanders replied
This was the Hall of Famer’s response when First Take host Shae Cornette asked if there was anything that would prompt him to jump to the NFL.

The Buffaloes’ head coach wanted to say something more, but stopped himself from truly saying what he wanted. It seems he did not want to rile up controversies, knowing it could impact his job back in Colorado, as well as draw unwanted negativity on Shedeur Sanders.
Deion Sanders goes off on Shedeur Sanders’ critics
While talking about the NFL and his son, Shedeur Sanders, Shae Cornette then asked Deion Sanders if he had advised his son after Browns’ head coach Todd Monken was non-committal.

Work. That’s the way you win everything in life… He’s a worker… It’s funny that all this bull junk they was putting out on him this time last year, where has that gone? Because he’s a true leader, he’s a bona fide baller. He can play. He studies, he prepares, when he walks into a room, he knows how to win it.
Deion Sanders replied
The 58-year-old reminded critics that his quarterback son has proved that even when all the odds were against him, Sanders proved he can put in the work and be better than others in the same room.

Sanders Sr. wondered where those who were dismissive of his son were, as the results from Shedeur Sanders’ short rookie campaign proved them wrong.
He reiterated that if his son is given a chance to work right from the offseason, then the 23-year-old can do what is needed to get on the same page with the coaches. That would result in success.
Deion Sanders has solution for Hall of Fame mess
The Hall of Fame has been a major topic of discussion throughout the football world. After Bill Belichick and then Robert Kraft‘s omission, many have wondered what the voters were thinking.
When Deion Sanders later appeared on ESPN2’s This is Football podcast, host Kevin Clark asked the two-time Super Bowl champion what needed to change.
I wouldn’t want the Grinch who stole Christmas voting on a beauty pageant… Just ask us.
Deion Sanders replied
He was referring to how writers were voting to decide on Hall of Fame entrants, but they were not qualified to do so. To this, Clark tried to reason that sports writers do a good job covering and analyzing the league.
Deion Sanders believes only Hall of Famers should vote on the Hall of Fame.

I said I think writers do a good job following the league.
"No, they don't" -Coach Prime. 🤣

However, Deion Sanders rebutted that and said that writers today do an atrocious job. He pointed at the Hall of Fame mistakes as the prime examples of why they have not been doing a decent job.
At the end, he suggested that the Pro Football Hall of Fame should remove the sports writers and bring in a panel comprising former Hall of Famers.
