Shedeur Sanders is in the final season of his college football career, and early draft projections rate him as a top-five pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. His head coach, Deion Sanders, who is also his father, recently hinted at the name of the NFL team where he would love to see Shedeur play.
During a recent episode of the Nightcap podcast with Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson, Deion Sanders mentioned the team and why, from his view, it is a good fit for his son. Sanders pointed out the ongoing quarterback conundrum in Miami after Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion.
Tagovailoa’s injury remains a day-to-day situation. The doctors even advised him to think long and hard about retiring. The Dolphins have struggled in his absence, losing every single game despite using three different quarterbacks.
Sanders replied,“So, you just got the revelation, huh?”
Currently, the Dolphins are on course to finish with the second draft pick in 2025. A quarterback will be Mike McDaniel’s top priority if Tagovailoa can no longer start for them.

Deion Sanders explains why he sees Miami Dolphins as a good fit for Shedeur Sanders
Ever since moving to Colorado, Sanders has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects, attracting a lot of media and scout attention. Despite a 4-7 first year with the Buffaloes, Sanders completed 69.3% of his passes, several of them being game-winning drives for 31 combined touchdowns and only 4 interceptions.
Sanders hasn’t been shy about avoiding certain franchises. He even revealed about following the same path as Eli Manning by choosing a team who are only a few pieces away from becoming title challengers. However, Sanders understands that he has no say in which team drafts Shedeur, but every football fan knows contenders from bottom feeders.
The Dolphins have a great situation for a rookie quarterback to walk into. It would be any player’s dream to play alongside teammates such as Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De’Von Achane, and Raheem Mostert.
Shedeur Sanders picked up from where he left off in 2023. After 5 game days, the Buffaloes sit with a 4-1 record (first since 2020). In those games, the 22-year-old has completed 70% of his passes for 1,630 yards passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and just three interceptions.
