Figueiredo started competing professionally in 2012 when he won his debut by submission. After amassing a perfect undefeated record of 11-0, Figueiredo made his UFC debut at UFC 212 against Marco Beltran in 2017 which he won via TKO due to doctor stoppage after the second round. Figueiredo’s first loss came against Jussier Formiga in March 2019 via unanimous decision.

On July 18, 2020, Figueiredo fought for the vacant UFC flyweight championship in a rematch against former UFC title challenger himself, Joseph Benavidez, only to win the fight via first-round TKO. Figueiredo then defended the title once against Alex Perez but came to a draw in his five-round war against Brandon Moreno.

Figueiredo finally lost his belt, also having his second career loss, in June 2021 when he lost the rematch with Moreno at UFC 263. The Brazilian would go on to face Moreno 2 more times, winning his title back in their trilogy at UFC 270. Unfortunately, he lost the title again to Moreno in their fourth fight at UFC 283.
