IPL 2020: Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad embark on journey to UAE

Sunrisers Hyderabad squad reaches Mumbai airport.

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday embarked their journey to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the upcoming IPL season.

Franchises official handle took to their social media and shared videos of players who reached the Mumbai airport today morning.

The cricketers were seen interacting amongst themselves in a video. Some players from the Delhi Capitals also revealed their excitement.

“Arrived at the Mumbai Airport,” DC captioned the post.

Furthermore, the Sunrisers Hyderabad handle shared a video on Instagram.

“How does it feel to see the boys back in? PS: Watch out for @manishpandeyinsta’s cameo,” read the Instagram post.

Capitals and Sunrisers last two teams to leave for UAE

Earlier, the players of Delhi Capitals underwent Coronavirus tests on Saturday before leaving for UAE for the IPL 2020.

The rule allows players with negative COVID-19 test to depart for the UAE. Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and others have already reached UAE. Remaining teams to reach are Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab.

The UAE will host 60 IPL games over 53 days. The venues decided for the match are Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The opening match of the season will be played on September 19.

Both afternoon and evening matches will be played half an hour earlier than ordinary.

The final match is planned to be played on a weekday. This will be first IPL final to be played on weekday.
