“Sorry I wasn’t the Dad you wanted me to be…” Dennis Rodman pens emotional message after daughter publicly disowned him
After her daughter's recent remark on a podcast, Dennis Rodman issued a heartfelt apology to his daughter via his Instagram account.

Dennis Rodman apologizes to his daughter publicly via Instagram
Dennis Rodman‘s daughter made some very telling remarks about the Chicago legend and what it was like growing up with him as a dad. Things haven’t apparently been well between the father-daughter duo for a long time, and it showed in her comments.
During one of her rare appearances on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Trinity Rodman made a striking statement, essentially disowning her father by saying, “He’s not a dad, maybe by blood, but nothing else.”
Soon after, her dad Dennis Rodman responded to her remarks with an emotional and lengthy apology on his Instagram account. In a now-deleted reel, Rodman posted a video—a collage of photos of him with his daughter Trinity over the years—to Bob Carlisle’s “Butterfly Kisses” soundtrack.
Sorry I wasn’t the Dad you wanted me to be, but either way, I still tried and I still try and never will stop. I will keep trying even when you’re being told as an adult not to respond to my phone calls. I will try even when it’s difficult, and if it takes a long time. I’m always here and tell you all the time, whether it’s your voice or voicemail, how proud I am. I always had one wish, and it was that I wished my kids would call me and come see me. Hopefully, one day I can get that. I’m here and I’m still trying. Pick up the phone. You have my number. You see me calling. I’m still here. Dennis RODMAN- Dad.

He also added that he genuinely wants to support his daughter and watch her excel.
FYI: I watch you play all the time (actually flew in to watch you play and was told not to show up because of who I was with). Instead of attending, I just wanted to support you, so I watched you from my hotel balcony to make everybody happy. I love all my kids.

Dennis the Menace’s apology seemed sincere, reflecting his longing for his daughter’s love and his desire to make things right after all this time. However, Trinity still feels otherwise. Still reluctant to forgive her dad for being a party animal and not focusing more on family life during her formative years, Trinity isn’t yet ready to forget and pardon her papa.
Trinity Rodman is one of the two children Rodman had with Michelle Moyer. Like her father, she is a successful athlete in her own right. Trinity is a professional soccer player who plays for the Washington Spirit in the NWSL.
Trinity Rodman rejects father’s emotional plea, calling it ‘A Joke’
Dismissing her father’s heartfelt apology as attention-seeking, Trinity hit back, and the tumultuous relationship of Dennis Rodman and his daughter took a turn for worse. Following the Chicago Bulls legend’s emotional Instagram post, which expressed his regret for not being the father she wanted, Trinity had a cutting response which left no room for reconciliation.
Nice repost. A joke. The response alone. And the attention. Wiping my hands with it. I’m done. Thank you.

Dennis Rodman, known for his flamboyant personality both on and off the court, has often faced criticism for prioritizing his wild lifestyle over his family and kids. Trinity’s response to his apology suggests that her wounds are still fresh, and it will take more than a public apology to mend their relationship.
As Trinity Rodman continues to focus on her soccer career with the Washington Spirit in the NWSL, it seems she is choosing to move forward without her father in her life for now. However, Dennis Rodman still remains hopeful, stating in his post that he will “never stop trying.”
