The 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season is going to witness some big driver moves, owing to Brad Keselowski’s exit from RFK Racing, after finding themselves in the cross-roads over the veteran’s racing future. The 2012 Cup champion is currently looking for a tier-1 side that can offer the shot at winning races consistently.

Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin talked about the uncertainty over the former champion’s career in the latest episode of his podcast. He has identified two team that could potentially offer the veteran the opportunity he is looking for. They are Richard Childress Racing and Trackhouse Racing, while top team from the Ford and Toyota garage might not be ready to invest on a veteran racer struggling to win.

I would say there’s certainly more to it, and I think he’s leaving enough Easter eggs that I have my own theory of where he’s going, but I think it would be inappropriate for me to say. I think it’s down to two teams because he keeps saying I can win in tier one equipment. And there are a couple of tier one equipment teams that are not running well.  Chevy. There are a handful of (tier one) Chevrolet teams in the Cup Series.

Denny Hamlin said on his podcast.

In order for the RCR or Trackhouse move to happen, there needs to some high profile moves that needs to happen. Childress’s team has active deals with Austin Dillon and Austin Hill, while Justin Marks’ team also have their three-driver contracted to race for them in 2027. So, Denny Hamlin seems to indicate that unless these teams field a third or fourth car, they won’t have a seat available for Brad Keselowski as long their current driver contracts are active.

He’s not going to Hendrick. He’s not going to Penske. He’s not going to Gibbs. What does that leave? I believe that there could be some cards that get shuffled. People move early to other places. I believe there could be something that could be had, and Brad ends up at a tier one team. That’s what we’re going to do here on Monday. We’re going to speculate until it comes out as fact. We’re going to just sit here and speculate.

Brad Keselowski insists he is capable of winning more Cup races

At Charlotte Motor Speedway, Brad Keselowski talked more about his future goals and RFK exit. He highlighted how he is in a good spot emotionally and is looking forward to proving himself to the doubters. The veteran is 100% confident that he can easily win races provided he gets the right car for the 2027 season and beyond. He backed his argument by showing his P2 finishing stats with the No:6 team since 2022.

This is kind of the fun. I’ve had plenty of time to see the writing on the wall that this was going to be a scenario. … I’m in a pretty good place of looking forward, not backwards. …I know I’m capable of winning more. I’ve only won once in the last five years, but I think about like, eight or nine second-place finishes and a lot of should’ve-would’ve-could’ves that were outside of our control. I feel like, in tier one equipment, I can win a lot more races

Brad Keselowski asserted.

The comments from the veteran are on point and shows how RFK not having the same level of confidence the veteran has on himself led to the surprising exit. It would be interesting to see where the veteran is going to end up in the 2027 season and how that decision is going to dictate the NASCAR silly season.
