Devin Haney revealed today that he traveled to London for his ringwork, but also to meet with Turki Alalshikh. The recently beaten “Dream” Haney catches a lot of online flak for yapping and not fighting, per fans. Even a viral notoriety like Ryan Garcia is gaining the upper hand with a highly controversial win over him. Hence, he is in active talks with the Saudi GEA and boxing chief to talk shop on what’s next.

Fans had questioned why Haney, 26, was in the ring in London when he had no fight in the pipeline. Devin Haney mentioned an offer from BLK Prime to fight in March. But chasing a payday and the chance to clear conceptions, the undefeated boxer wants a spot in big-money Riyadh Season cards.

I want to fight everybody. Y’all know I’m not into tune-up fights. I want to make the biggest fights happen…I’m here to meet with His Excellency Turki Al-Shiekh…want to be a spokesman for clean boxing because I was one that actually experienced it. I experienced being cheated and what it’s like to fight somebody that’s on PEDs…I want to clean up the sport of boxing…

His best wins came against George Kambosos, Regis Prograis, and Vasiliy Lomachenko. Haney’s win over Lomachenko was highly controversial, as most bill it. Conversely, if Haney gets KOed by someone Alalshikh chooses for him, it takes the interest out of a rematch with Ryan Garcia.

“KingRy,” doped or not, put the former WBC super lightweight flame to the canvas three times; Haney hit the deck 6 times total in a stunning decision defeat (115-109, 114-110, and 112-112). Nevertheless, the failed drug test meant the loss was turned to a no-contest. So, Haney’s stock is not really that high right now.

He even sued the rival for physical harm and fraud, claiming he hurt his marketability in the 12-round beatdown. Safe to say – things are going the “Dream” way. Everyone knows Haney vs. Garcia would not be the biggest rematch now given how he beat the stuffing out of him. So, Turki Alalshikh and his money fights might just be it. Garcia, too, is not fond of the stipulations of a possible matchup.

Ryan Garcia rejects VADA, putting rematch in doubt

Garcia, 26, is coming off a disastrous boxing bout that initially went in his favor. Ryan Garcia came 3.2lbs over limit and tested in the green for Ostarine. The New York State Athletic Commission backtracked that and a previous false positive for 19-Norandrosterone, as doping. He is now serving a serious suspension.

Devin Haney has tried to whitewash his loss as a fault of PED usage. Meanwhile, Ryan Garcia blamed the linkage to the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) for test tampering. Now, he rejects such a setting yet again, for the nth time.

It’s getting really strange why it’s always VADA VADA can we get some other organizations to test. Cause you got bill pushing only VADA never says any other organizations and it’s strange he’s pushing a certain organization. Don’t you just want any kind of testing. All this sounds like the people pushing to use VADA are getting some type of cut money wise to have people use VADA. Seems unethical. This is just my opinion.

If Bill Haney keeps pushing VADA for his son’s next outing, he might lose on a lucrative rematch. The Haney-Garcia fight is big, but it’s not the “biggest” as “Dream” would have one believe. Garcia was still highly-touted as ESPN‘s sixth-best active junior welterweight, and also a top #3 welterweight. Haney needs this rematch more than he needs him.

There’s another clink in the link. The Victorville, CA native is already on a loose-loose thread. He already paid a $10,000 NYSAC fine, is out of WBC, and has nothing to gain in fighting Haney. Plus, during the RIZIN 49 Live telecast, Ryan Garcia said he is undergoing surgery and won’t fight Rukiya Anpo just yet. During a clinical recoup and camp, VADA is the last place Garcia would look to enter a test pool, given he does not trust them.
