Despite a 5-1 record with Sam Darnold, the Minnesota Vikings are rumored to be in the market ahead of the NFL trade deadline looking for a quarterback. Dez Bryant found this unacceptable and he gave his blunt reaction, calling the franchise disloyal. 

After the Vikings lost star Kirk Cousins to the Atlanta Falcons, they drafted J.J. McCarthy to potentially be a franchise quarterback. But then, he injured himself and they were left with Darnold– whom they acquired earlier in the offseason. The Vikings and the fans didn’t have much expectations from the 27-year-old, but he astounded everyone with an MVP-worthy performance.

After a five-game winning streak, the Vikings sustained their first loss of the season at the hands of divisional rivals, the Detroit Lions in week 7. Shortly after the close 31-29 loss, an X user shared a tweet about the Vikings having “serious trade talks” with their next week’s opponents, the Los Angeles Rams, for quarterback Matthew Stafford.

In the six games that the former New York Jets quarterback played in Minnesota this season, he has posted impressive stats of 1,370 yards with 15 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, and a QBR of 55.1.

Although there haven’t been any official confirmations or reports by NFL Insiders on the subject of Stafford’s trade to the Vikings, the former Dallas Cowboys star believes it’s true and absolutely unaccepted. Being outraged by the rumor, Bryant vented his frustration via social media by sharing a post addressed to the Vikings.

Stafford isn’t the only Rams player mentioned in trade rumors, wide receiver Cooper Kupp is also speculated to be traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 4-3; who lost both their star receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin to injuries in the game against the Baltimore Ravens. 

If the trade rumors are true, it could be because the Rams might be looking for first-round picks for the 2025 NFL Draft by trading their star players ahead of the NFL Trade deadline on November 5. They are currently standing at 2-4 and the picture isn’t looking too good for them to stage a comeback.
