Dillon Danis is currently one of the most popular fighters of Bellator FC. But most of his popularity has not come from his performance inside the ring but from his interactions outside of it. Danis gained most of his popularity after he became the BJJ training partner of Conor McGregor. The American is infamous for getting into regular controversies regularly. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt has been in the headlines but hasn’t competed since June 2019.

Danis has fought twice in Bellator and has won both of them via first-round submission. In March 2020, the fighter underwent a reconstructive knee injury and was unable to fight. Despite his inactivity, Danis always finds different ways to get into the limelight by getting into online beefs with fellow combat sports athletes.

Recently Danis was trying to have a negotiation with YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul for a boxing bout. But it didn’t go the way he wanted. Other than that, he was also involved in trading insults with former UFC superstar, Michael Bisping. Danis was allegedly slapped by Dominance MMA Management president, Ali Abdelaziz. The 28-year-old was also arrested by police last September for an altercation that happened outside a bar in Seaside Heights, N.J.

Danis recently took to Twitter to give the fans a hint about his return as soon as possible. The fighter wrote, “I’m ready.” But didn’t give any other context to the tweet.

At this moment with so little information it is hard to tell what’s on Dillon Danis’s mind. There has been no other news regarding when he will make his return and who will fight next. Danis has two fights left in his Bellator contract and the CEO of Bellator, Scott Coker is eager for his comeback. While talking to MMA Junkie in kiNovember Coker said

“I sure hope. That’s really up to him. I talk to him from time to time, just texting back-and-forth, asking him how he’s doing. The conversations are good. They’re pleasant. But I’m just waiting for him to say, ‘Hey, I’m ready. Give me a date, give me a fighter and let’s go.’ Really it’s going to be up to him.

It seems like the promotion has always been positive for the return of Danis. However, some fans were skeptical about his past performance and return to the sport. Many fans wrote hilarious responses to Dillon’s return update. Here are some of the fans’ reactions.

One fan wrote, ” To get fu**** or to get choked out by a random guy again?.”

Another hilarious comment was “Be careful Dillon, I heard that bouncer has signed to the UFC.” It was the reference to Dillon getting into a scuffle with bouncers in the past.
