Royal Challengers Bengaluru have some of the most passionate fans in the IPL. Despite not winning the IPL in 16 years, along with the numerous poor performances, the fans have stayed loyal to the team. Despite being loyal, they are also quite toxic at times.
Dinesh Karthik recently featured on Ravichandran Ashwin’s “Kutti Story” and spoke about the RCB fans. He called them “loyalists” and “family,” who will cheer for them them as if like they’re the greatest players in the world. Karthik further said Ellyse Perry and Shreyanka Patil must’ve felt it after they won the 2024 WPL for RCB.
Karthik further said the fans will always defend their players irrespective of their form. But he revealed that these same fans have another side, where they abuse the players on DMs.
On a personal level, that same fan will abuse me silently in DMs every day, rather than on a one-on-one note. He will go hard at me if I don't do well for RCB; he will smash me, not just me, my family, and whoever is possible in my life. But to the outside world, they will not give up an RCB player.Dinesh Karthik said
He did call them “incredible”, commending them for their loyalty to the team in the past 16 years. Karthik said the RCB fanbase is the most special one, comparing it to the teams he has played for.
RCB fan skips work to watch match claiming family emergency, caught by boss on live TV
Recently, Royal Challengers Bengaluru played Lucknow SuperGiants at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, which ended in a loss as they failed to chase down 181 runs. This hurt a fan even more, as she skipped work to watch it but was caught by her manager.
The fan recently uploaded a reel on her Instagram, where she revealed that she skipped work to attend the match. She told her boss that she had a family emergency and went to Chinnaswamy. She was unfortunately caught by her boss, who texted her after the camera caught her in the stands.
They came on TV, reacting to Anuj Rawat dropping Nicholas Pooran. The next day her boss texted her, asking if she was a RCB fan. She confirmed it and her boss had a quick call with her regarding the early log-out.
