The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder in game 6 to advance into the Western Conference playoff finals. However, a hilarious incident caught the eye of the NBA community during the Mavs-Thunder game. Former NBA player, Dirk Nowitzki put his former teammate and NBA champion, Richard Jefferson in a chokehold on national television, and Dirk enjoyed the moment.

The official NBA X account uploaded a video in which ESPN’s Dave Pasch and Richard Jefferson were providing the audience pre-match analysis of the Mavs-Thunder game. All of a sudden, a hand gets wrapped around Jefferson’s neck putting him into a chokehold. As the camera zoomed out, Nowitzki was seen having fun with his former teammate.

Not only that, Jefferson also seemed to enjoy the moment as he just laughed back at Nowitzki. Interestingly, the two former NBA greats were teammates at the Dallas Mavericks. Nowtizki spent his entire career in Dallas whereas Jefferson signed with the Mavs as a free agent. The two share a great bond.

On the sports side of things, Nowtizki must have enjoyed his trip to Dallas, as the Mavs were victorious over the Thunder. Also, Mavs’ star man Luka Doncic was the stand-out performer in the match, dropping 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists along with his teammates Kyrie Irving (22 points) and Derrick Jones Jr. (22 points) also dropping crucial points on the Thunder in game 6.
