With PWInsider recently breaking the story on Rusev, aka Miro, signing with WWE, the question begs if he’s bringing his wife on board as well or not. The Bulgarian grappler was released by All Elite Wrestling in February after initially requesting it in September. There were reported creative differences between the two parties, and they eventually parted ways.

Miro is on his way back to WWE. His wife, Lana, though, isn’t expected to follow in her husband’s footsteps as of now. Dave Meltzer spoke on his Wrestling Observer Radio that The Ravishing Russian didn’t accompany Rusev at his latest visit to the WWE headquarters in Stamford. He was there to set the stage for his return.

But his former valet isn’t signed, and the belief is she wouldn’t be going back to WWE for the time being. The Surreal Life actress was released by WWE in June 2021, ending an eight-year run with the company. Even though the reports don’t indicate that WWE wants her back in a heartbeat, Perry did ask her fans in an Instagram post dated November 2024 whether they’d want to see her returning to WWE on Netflix.

If anything, there’s no major ill will between the 40-year-old and the Stamford-based wrestling juggernaut. At the moment, the former Rusev is eyeing turning his fortunes in WWE after having an underwhelming stint with AEW. With not enough time to spare until WrestleMania 41, it seems like The Bulgarian Brute would re-emerge on WWE programming after the two-night spectacle in Las Vegas. The Raw after WrestleMania could very well be the likely landing spot for the ex-United States Champion.

Once seperated, Rusev and Lana are back on the same page

The on-screen pairing of Rusev and Lana is still what their fans look back on from their previous tenure with WWE. Since they were married in real life, their interactions appeared genuine and unrehearsed. Quite possibly the most bizarre storyline they’ve done was the one with Bobby Lashley.

The All Mighty was earmarked as CJ Perry’s new boyfriend in the storyline that would often leave Rusev infuriated. After months of edgy angles and non-PG segments, it came to an end in mid-2020. Somehow, the on-screen troubles between Miro and his wife instilled cynicism among a section of the audience about those issues translating into their real life.

If any of it triggered the duo’s separation in the winter of 2023 remains unknown, but they did split up. However, after over a year, a story published by TMZ revealed that Rusev and Lana had reconciled and even renewed their wedding vows. The 39-year-old wrestler also spent time with Perry’s grandfather in his final days. It was after a hangout with his granddaughter and Rusev himself when he passed away.

How was the aftermath of Lana’s WWE release?

A month after her WWE release in 2021, CJ Perry went into the details on Chris Jericho‘s Talk Is Jericho podcast. The Ravishing Russian was informed about the company’s decision to cut her via a phone call that was done by John Laurinaitis.

She was understandably heartbroken but relieved at the same time. Perry described it as if some weight was lifted off her shoulders and she could finally take a sigh of relief. Laurinaitis was kind to her in their conversation, telling the Pitch Perfect star that she really proved herself in that ring.

Lana recalled texting former WWE star-turned-OnlyFans model Mandy Rose and telling her about her release. Perry then called Natalya, who was upset too. Most notably, Vince McMahon did indeed drop a message for Lana and thanked the 40-year-old for her incredible work ethic.
