Things have gone from bad to worse for Seth Rollins of late. As seen on Raw this week, The Visionary was blindsided by Bronson Reed. What followed was excruciating. The Aussie grappler just steamrolled Seth after flattening the former World Champion with a plethora of tsunamis—six of them. Rollins was coughing blood, albeit the fans in attendance were jubilant at the onslaught.

That ambush was seemingly orchestrated in order to write Seth Rollins off television. As per a new update courtesy of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the 38-year-old Superstar is dealing with a chronic injury. As a result, he’ll be away from WWE for a while. There’s nothing about how grave Seth’s woes are. Nonetheless, he’s on to rehab now. One might wonder whether he returned prematurely in June.

As the fans know, The Drip God competed at WrestleMania XL with a torn meniscus. After being the MVP of the PLE, as per The Rock, Seth underwent surgery on his knees. After almost a couple of months, he was back. On top of that, the former Shield member had a gruesome spar with Damian Priest at Money in the Bank. It was for the World Heavyweight Championship. Even though Drew McIntyre‘s cash-in coupled with CM Punk‘s interference denied Rollins the gold, he had a stellar performance as usual.

Then at SummerSlam, he didn’t compete. Instead, Seth dispensed officiating duties as the special guest referee for Punk’s long-awaited grudge match with McIntyre. Not to much of a surprise, The Architect was heavily involved in directing the course of that bout. In fact, CM Punk would rue taking his eye off the bullet when he started verbally jousting with Seth. That saw Drew capitalize and get that much-needed win over The Second City Saint.

What’s going to be Seth Rollins’ next big feud?

Even though getting his pound of flesh on Bronson Reed would be Seth Rollins‘ utmost priority when he returns, there’s already a mega match in the works for the 5-time World Champion. It’s not something he thought would be possible over a year ago.

However, a date with destiny awaits The Visionary with CM Punk eyeing to squash his real-life beef with Seth inside the squared circle. They were penciled in to fight at this year’s WrestleMania. But it was not to be.

As of now, The Best in the World is still at loggerheads with Drew McIntyre. They’re even rumored for a Hell in a Cell match at the Bad Blood PLE. But the fans can’t wait for the day when Rollins and Punk will finally lay waste to each other.
