DK Metcalf needs the service from his quarterback to make something happen during the game. So far, the connection between him and Geno Smith has looked promising in the first five-game days. However, it was nonexistent against the San Francisco 49ers on TNF.

Following the end of the first quarter, the NFL Prime cameras caught Metcalf storming off to the sidelines in anger. Despite running the length of the field several times, he was targeted only on three occasions, catching it once.

The video footage showed the 26-year-old grabbing the headset and the tablet to evaluate the first 15 minutes. Prime Video’s sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung paraphrased Metcalf’s thoughts.

DK Metcalf and the Seattle Seahawks are in trouble

Before Thursday’s match at Lumen Field, the Seahawks had the seventh-best passing offense in the NFC with 376.2 yards per game. DK Metcalf led the Seahawks offense with 421 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the first five fixtures.

From weeks 2-4, Metcalf had back-to-back 100-yard games despite the Seahawks suffering losses. It was only in the last game that his output dropped to 55. It was the same outcome in the 49ers’ tie as well. The two-time pro bowler only caught 3 passes all night for 48 yards and zero touchdowns.

Another post curated by Bleacher Report showed Metcalf being denied four touchdowns in the last three weeks by the officials.

The Seahawks weren’t able to recover in time and suffered their third defeat of the season (36-24). According to ESPN’s fantasy update, Metcalf finished with 7.8 fantasy points.

Historically, the Seahawks won more over the 49ers (26) but the visitors have had the upper hand by winning six straight (including the Thursday night win).

49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir took a shot at Metcalf after the game.

I just know the hyena can’t be f**ked with… there was a lot of conversation out there… we kept it football, but you know, one of us showed up tonight.

Deommodore Lenoir said

In the reverse fixture last season, Lenoir, Fred Warner, and Metcalf got into a massive fight near the 49ers sideline. The referee later ejected both of them.

The Seahawks need to quickly get over the losses; otherwise, they will continue to pile up. Brian Callahan must evaluate the mistakes made in the last three weeks and improve on them during their bye week. After that, they will face the Atlanta Falcons on week 7.
