Boxer Dmitry Bivol‘s ex-wife surprised many boxing fans on social media by reacting to his defeat on 12 October. Now, Ekaterina Bivol, who the fan clique dubs the “pro hater” is taking said hate to a whole new level. Bivol recently lost the undisputed light heavyweight crown of the 4-belt era to Artur Beterbiev at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

Reigning WBO, IBF, and WBC 175-pound champion Beterbiev broke through the defense and edged out ex-WBA’s top crop Bivol (23-1, 12 KOs). Despite the majority decision (114-114/115-113/116-112), many had Bivol winning the close fight. He didn’t evaporate and took better shots early on. Hence, his loss is still up for debate. Ekaterina, though, does not give a hoot.

The couple split last year, and their divorce has been mired in controversy. Bivol’s ex-wife accused him of domestic abuse, financial misconduct, and not caring for the household. As the 33-year-old suffered his first defeat, a clip of Ekaterina’s excitement went viral. Not only did she cheer on Beterbiev, but her celebration shored across social media. She was also streaming it live (on StreamEast) to get over PPV costs.

In another now-defunct IG story, Ekaterina was adamant in her stand against “child traitor” Dmitry. She may’ve been referring to Bivol’s parents. Ekaterina has already filed a lawsuit against her in-laws for fraud and manipulation to seize her rightful property. All in all, it’s a tough road ahead.

The reigning WBO, IBF, and WBC 175-pound champion Artur Beterbiev added the WBA title to his collection. Defeating Dmitry Bivol in a stylistic 12-round clash that will be talked about for ages. The Russian has the scope to fall back to a rematch net, with Saudi GEA backing the cause. Even promoter Eddie Hearn had Bivol winning by an 8-4 score. But his turbulence outside the square ring will be his biggest challenge.

Ekaterina Bivol has already chalked the result down to “karma.” Now, she’ll be pouring on more hate. Some weeks ago, Ekaterina revealed that she did not tell the truth because of her sons. But having won the custody battle, she has accused Dmitry of financial neglect. She added that the California-based fighter only pays “$1,100 a month for both children” and has several hidden offshore accounts.

It seemed the duo were ready to settle out of court through arbitration. But during her live stream alongside MMA fighter Artem Tarasov, Ekaterina made it clear she was going to court. Ekaterina has publicly claimed that her husband has beaten her, told her to abort her pregnancy, and was nearly killed by her mother-in-law. The 34-year-old claimed Dmitry’s parents had fraudulently taken her rightful property, which she also acquired after marrying him.

Bivol himself has remained largely silent on the matter. His ex-wife’s campaign against him has included attempts to rally public support for the boxer’s “cancellation.” However, a California court trial and alimonies will only demerit him as a top pay-per-view spot delight.
