WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol is on the verge of one of the biggest nights of his professional boxing career. He is scheduled to face off against the undisputed WBC, IBF, and WBO champion Artur Beterbiev on October 12. Amidst this, his ex-wife, Ekaterina Bivol, seems determined to bring down the undefeated Russian boxer.

Dmitry and Ekaterina first met on a flight in August 2007 and started dating since that year. Hence, their relationship started way before the boxer’s professional debut. Over his illustrious career, Dmitry defeated several formidable opponents. He is scheduled to face one of his biggest challenges in the coming October. The sudden outrage from Ekaterina against Dmitry has caused quite a stir in the community.

Ekaterina has been struggling with solo parenting since her separation from Dmitry. They now live separately, with their children Miron Bivol and Nikon Bivol staying with their mother. Ekaterina has expressed disappointment in Dmitry’s reluctance to provide child support for their two sons, stating that he only contributes $1,100 per month as a boxer.

Dmitry Bivol is a successful professional boxer because of his extraordinary record. That being said, Ekaterina even accused her ex-husband of hiding his wealth in foreign bank accounts. Moreover, she even brought up several past allegations for which the couple had to separate from each other.

What went wrong between Dmitry Bivol and Ekaterina Bivol?

Dmitry Bivol and Ekaterina Bivol married on July 13, 2013, and were together for almost a decade. However, they announced their divorce in August 2023. According to several reports, the relationship between Dmitry and Ekaterina turned sour after the Canelo Alvarez fight in 2022. Following their divorce, Ekaterina voiced her reasons for the split.

As such, she levied several accusations on the undefeated Russian boxer. Per Ekaterina, Dmitry and his mother physically and psychologically abused her. She even posted several pictures of the bruises as evidence of it. Not only that, Ekaterina also claimed that her father himself didn’t allow her to report to the police.

Due to this, their relationship seemingly turned bitter and eventually failed to hold up. Both of them soon started minding their own paths. Dmitry, in particular, continued his undefeated form with his most recent victory against Malik Zinad. With that win, he set himself up for an intriguing matchup against Artur Beterbiev. Surprisingly, out of nowhere, Ekaterina started her rant before the fight week.

Amidst that, Bivol’s ex-wife, Ekaterina, creates some controversy again. She even expressed her desire to see Dmitry’s downfall. As such, Ekaterina pledges her and her children’s support for the Russian KO artist.
